A strong body core is very important in badminton to give you strength, control and balance in your movement.

Good lunges need strong abdominal and back muscles to help maintain shot balance, preventing the upper body collapsing that in turn helps you recover quicker.

Jump shots require these strong core muscles to help generate shot power and also good balance when landing.

Your core is the link between the strong leg muscles and a strong upper body. A chain is only as good as its weakest link, so it is important to invest time in improving your core stability and strength.
