The arc step is seen in both singles and doubles and is a good movement to get your body in line with the shuttle and be able to transfer you body weight through the shot.

Movement starts with the split step from base followed an arc movement where your non-racket comes across the body in a turning chasse style to get in line with the shuttle.

From here you should establish a wide base to get up off the ground and kick through with the racket leg.

Rear leg then racket leg should land in quick succession.

The arc-step is a good movement for attacking shots and creating power as it creates good transfer of body weight through the shot.
