Skipping is a great form of off-court training for badminton, which top players include in their weekly programme.

It can help develop the agility and lightness of feet required for good movement about the court.

It takes very little space to practice skipping and it is an exercise that can be performed at home or in the corner of the gym or sports hall.

It is advisable to use good quality skipping ropes, made of leather or wire, and skip on a sprung or cushioned surface.
