Another service rule change is regarding the angle of the racket head on impact.
Previously the highest part of the racket head had to be discernibly below the lowest part of the hand on impact of the racket with the shuttle.
The rule now says that the shaft of the server’s racket at the instant of hitting the shuttle shall be pointing in a downward direction.
As a result the contact point can now be slightly higher giving the server an advantage in being able to serve the shuttle flatter
However these serves will likely be called fault.
