You can practice the effectiveness of your net flick by having a partner return shuttles to you in the forecourt area whilst you manoeuvre them about the court playing random shots from the forecourt.

When you decide to play the net flick, try and hold your shot and see if you can make your partner take the shuttle late in the rearcourt.

Practice flicks from both the forehand and backhand side of the forecourt.

Try and be active between shots yourself and make a good recovery. If you create a lot of deception you may be able to wrong foot your partner altogether.

Develop the routine to include straight and cross-court flicks.
