The driving shot is a flat powerful shot played just above net height to create openings or exploit weaknesses in your opponents defence.
It is important to use a short rebound action when playing this shot, as you have to be ready for the reply very quickly.
Movement of the arm is mainly from the elbow extension, with power generated from a combination of the rebound action of the wrist and the squeezing of the fingers on the racket handle.
Note the movement of the muscles in the forearm region when the fingers are squeezed.
