The following clips show some examples of good service returns to gain the attack.
- Return of serve at the body. This return can restrict the opponent’s room to play a quality shot.
- Return to the net. The shuttle will quickly drop below the height of the net forcing a lift.
- Return to the tramlines between the server and their partner. This is sometimes termed the divorce area in mixed doubles – when the opposition is unsure of who should cover the reply
- Return of serve long and wide into the corners. This will take the opposition out of position and force them to take the shuttle late.
