As the aim in doubles is to try and attack the serve, it is important to take up a return of serve position that will maximise attacking opportunities.

1) Take up a position on the court as far up the court as you can, but still feel comfortable that you would be able to get behind a flick serve

2) Your stance should be side on with the non-racket foot in front as this is the optimal position for being able to step into the short serve but also chasse backwards to get to the flick serve

3) The racket should be in a ready position out in front of the body with the racket head above the wrist so that you can meet the shuttle early

4) Look like you mean business! If you take up a threatening stance, then this in itself can be enough make it more difficult for the opponents to serve
