The aim of the backhand clear is to push your opponent into the rear court.
In preparation for the backhand clear, you should keep an angle between the forearm and upper arm.
Pivot on the non racket leg and step into the corner with your racket leg.
The technique here is a rebound action and generation of racket head speed is important to hit a good length clear.
Avoid trying to take a big swing to play a backhand clear.
Focus on good timing and generating racket head speed through the air using wrist and forearm.
Also try and stay relaxed if you try too hard and are tense in the arm, this will inhibit your ability to generate racket head speed.
