When you perform sit up exercises, don't forget to do some back exercises as well.

Back raises are a good exercise to work your back muscles.

It is important to keep your neck in line with your spine as you raise your upper body off the floor.

Complete 10 to 30 repetitions as appropriate to your ability.

Rest and repeat again.

Hold for a split second at the top of the raise to show that you have controlled the movement before slowly lowering to the floor.

Your feet should maintain contact with the floor throughout. Finish off a core session with some of the general back stretches shown here.
