It did make me think that I could have a 10 year old child and that spooked me out!!

Saturday 19th May

Ed and I went to a wedding reception in Reading in the evening.  It was an ex colleague of Ed’s and we stayed at his friend Ben and his girlfriend Rachel’s house who lived nearby.  We had a brilliant evening – mainly due to the fact that there was a giant chocolate fountain that I couldn’t tear myself away from….!  I love those things!!

Monday 21st May

Nathan and I were invited up to Glasgow by the Bank of Scotland to do some promotional stuff for the Sudirman Cup.  We flew up early morning and then unleashed into Scotstoun.  The badminton set-up in Glasgow is fantastic and they had invited loads of children in for a special morning of playing badminton and other activities.  Some of them got a chance to play against me or Nathan but we kept having to go for photos so we couldn’t hit with everyone.  After all the badminton playing, we went for a gorgeous lunch in the city centre at Brian Moule’s restaurant and it was here that we did all the interviews with the journalists.  They were all really nice and seemed excited about the world class badminton that was coming to Scotland in a few weeks!  I have a feeling that the Sudirman Cup will be a great event!

Badminton Scotland even gave us a bottle of champagne to say thank you!  I will definitely go back… I got completely spoilt!

Tuesday 22nd May

I went to see Ella for lunch today.  Ella has officially retired from badminton and it is quite sad as we have played badminton together since we were 14 so it feels like the end of an era!  Basically, she was finding it hard to come back after having Callum last year and priorities change.  It was really great having a gossip with her and Callum has grown so fast!!  He was whizzing around in his baby walker and if he wasn’t in that, then he was crawling at warp speed!  But he was always smiling and he is such a cutie!

Friday 25th May

I met up with an old school friend Emilie today.  I haven’t seen her in 13 years and it was a bit scary, but she only lives 10 mins away from me and it was so nice to see each other again and gossip about all the other girls from our school!  Emilie has a 10 year old son Luke and he is a sweetie!  It did make me think that I could have a 10 year old child and that spooked me out!!   But it was lovely to see her and I will definitely keep in touch.

Went out for dinner with Ella, Hannah and Donna.  We went to The Swan in Milton Keynes Village as it is really nice in there and it does gorgeous food!  They have done it up recently and makes it a lot better.  It also helps that I can walk to it!  we had a good gossip and it was a bit of a “retirement” dinner for Ella too! But she started falling asleep at about 11pm as Callum still wakes up early!
