Thursday 26th April
It was a B&Q day today – and they sent me to Folkestone!! I had never been there before, and I swear B&Q are sending me further and further away!! It was a small warehouse store that had been built but everyone, like at all B&Q stores, was so proud of their achievements and the work that they had all put in, that the day was just a big fun day and loads of people came to see the opening! A real success!
Thursday 17th May
Went to see Mika in the evening at the Carling Academy in Birmingham. Oh my God, he was amazing!! I love his album and I really wanted to see him live and he definitely didn’t disappoint. He had such an incredible stage presence and he wasn’t that camp, so I ended up thinking he was really sexy and I think I love him now! The whole gig was great and I jumped up and down and sang so loud all the way through! Brilliant!!
Friday 18th May (Suzanne Rayappan’s birthday)
Andy Allford had organized a trip to see the Harlem Globetrotters for this day and about 18 of us went up to the NIA in Birmingham to watch the show.
It was a bit weird being in Birmingham for something else other than the All England! We went for a curry first and then went to see some basketball. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was really good fun! The skills that these guys have are amazing and they make it into a very funny comedy act. At one point, Donna and I were crying with laughter as this mascot was flinging himself all over the place to music!
We went out in Milton Keynes when we got back to have a
few drinks for Suzanne’s birthday and we went to a new bar in the theatre
district called Opus. It was ok, cheesy
music and we found a sofa, so all fine with me! I did start to fade at about 2am even though I had had a couple of red
bulls and Ed was beginning to fall asleep! (He had started work at 6am so was feeling it!) We
left the others to it and went home.
