The Carlton Roadshow

Saturday 21st April

It was Ed’s leaving do in Reading today!  It was a little bit scary as this was it!  Everyone was saying goodbye to him and he is going to live with me in Milton Keynes and work there too.  I felt like I shouldn’t have been there as I was the one that was taking him away from Reading!

Some of his friends came from Saffron Walden along with his shift and we played football in the park, then a bit of cricket (although Ed bowled me out so I wasn’t happy with him for that!) and had a bit of a picnic before it was back to Ed’s for pizza.  Then they hit the drinks!  I decided not to drink that night – mainly because I had a Carlton event the next day that I had to leave early for, but also just in case things got a bit crazy and at least there would be 1 sober person!!  Luckily there wasn’t too much bother except for a girl called Natalie obsessed with Ed who was causing a bit of aggro – but nothing I couldn’t handle!!  Ha ha ha!

Sunday 22nd April

It was up early in the morning and off to Kent to do a Carlton Roadshow.  It was the first one of its kind that Nathan and I had done and it went really well!  The only downside was that it was on a gorgeous day and I wanted to be outside rather than in a sports hall!  The day was from 10am to 4pm and I was completely exhausted at the end of it! The trouble is, everyone shows off against us and wants to beat us!  So we have to put extra effort in to stop that!  And that continued all day!

After the day’s efforts, I went into London to meet Ed, his brother Jonathan, his wife Jess, her father and her stepmother for dinner in the London Bridge area.  It was the 1st time I had driven into London and I had bought a sat nav for this as I get so nervous driving in places that I don’t know!!  It is brilliant!  I just went where it told me and I was there outside the restaurant!  I think this is the best invention ever!!  Jess is American and her father Mike and his wife Linda were over visiting England and doing a bit of a tour of Europe too.  The evening was such a laugh!

Mike and Linda are fantastic people and it was a pleasure being with them that evening.

Sat nav got me all the way back to Milton Keynes too!!  Brilliant!!
