Kept catching the eye of Gary Neville

Thursday 29th March

It was the Sports Industry Awards in the evening.  I was really looking forward to this as last year it was brilliant (except everyone remembered me getting very drunk!) and it is a really good evening to meet lots of contacts for the future.  My friend Lucy from uni was going as well and I couldn’t wait to have a good evening with her too!  There were rumours that Beckham was going to be there which I didn’t believe at all, but when I walked in to the venue, there he was with Posh!  I couldn’t believe it!

I spent all the dinner trying to get a glimpse of them, and then I realised that they were only 1 table away and had their backs to me! In trying to get a look at them, I kept catching the eye of Gary Neville as he was on the same table as them and in my eye-line!  He must have thought there was a right weirdo who kept staring at him all dinner!

Nathan and I were sat on the table of SG Banking and they were really lovely people.  I was sat next to a guy called Andy Lee who is an ex-Saracens and Harlequins rugby player.  It also turned out that he used to be Ed’s old PE teacher!!  Small world!  Now I blame him for the amount of alcohol I consumed as he kept topping my glass up and ordering champagne (which is evil!).  After the dinner, I was talking to Brian and Ian from Lenovo and Victoria Beckham walked straight passed me!  I was just gaping and then without thinking just turned and followed her! It was only then I realised that she was going to the toilets and I couldn’t follow her there cos that would be a little bit strange. I’d already spooked Gary Neville and I didn’t need the police on me!

The evening progressed with more champagne and more gossiping.  The Beckhams came and went and left us mere mortals to drink what we could.  I had another top night and managed to drag Nathan out to get our car to Milton Keynes at about 2am
