Saturday 24th March

I had been invited to go on “Fighting Talk” on BBC 5Live with Colin Murray and it was going to be the 1st time that the show had all female guests on.  I was really nervous as the other guest were Eleanor Aldroyd, Sue Mott and Hazel Irvine – all very clever people and sports journalists who knew their stuff.  The show was a hit and I had so much fun!  You could just hear me giggle a lot and Colin was so un-politically correct that it made the show even funnier.  Those of my friends that listened said they enjoyed it so that was ok!

My friend Lisa (who does the buy-local.net) is 30 and her husband organised a surprise dinner for her. I have never seen someone so surprised! She walked into Pizza Express in Bedford, astounded that so many people were there for her birthday!  There were about 35 of us and she was over the moon. I had to leave pretty early though as I had to drive to Reading and get some sleep.  I was running 10K in Eastleigh for B&Q the next morning and the clocks were going forward so I needed all the rest I could get!  Am I mad?!!

Sunday 25th March

There are too many enthusiastic runners out there in the world.  It is 8.30am on a Sunday morning and there are loads of people turning up to run the Eastleigh 10K.  There are so many people it is unbelievable!  Everyone is in some sort of tiny amount of running kit and I am so cold I have about 4 layers on.  You can tell I am an indoor sport girl!

Overall there are about 1500 runners and after a lot of moaning and whinging from me, the B&Q race gets under way.  I actually enjoyed it and as I started off slow, I overtook loads of people on my way round which was very satisfying!!  I finished in 48 minutes.  Not too bad seeing as I had never run 10K before!  Next time, I am going to do it in under 45mins!! As B&Q were sponsoring this event, I started the fun runs for the kids and handed out the medals at the end.  They were sooo cute!  But there were a few tears too!  it was a great turn out and a I think everyone had fun!

Monday 26th March

Would you believe it? I’m going back to Denmark!  Oh yes, it is that time again – 2nd leg of the semi-final tomorrow.  Donna and I reluctantly get in the car after training and head to Stansted…
