Tuesday 2nd January
Ok, my body is rebelling for the drinking and being in a
smoky place and trying to sing karaoke! My voice sounds like I should be operating a phone sex line and I am
coughing like anything! Today was first
day back training as well, so not the healthiest start to the year. Most people were suffering with colds so that
made me feel a bit better!
Went to see my friend Hazel's new house in Eaton
Socon. It is lovely! But she was telling me about the people who
used to live there before she moved in and it sounded disgusting! By the sounds of it, Kim and Aggie from
"How Clean is Your House" would have had a field day! But they saw the potential and got the house
for a really good price because of the state it was left in. Hazel had baby Jakob in June last year so it
was good to see him again.
They grow so
quickly! Baby Joseph was there too and I
think he recognised me from Christmas Eve! Hmmm... maybe not! It was good to
catch up with the other girls Jennie, Anne and Lisa too. I hadn't seen Lisa for ages as she and her
husband Rick are starting up their own business of organic food delivery -
Buy-Local.net - so if you live in the Bedford area, give it a try! Lisa, Jennie and Hazel are all giving up
smoking so I took all their cigarettes from them! At last! I have been wanting to do that for years! I hate smoking, I think it is disgusting and
I am proud of them for kicking the habit.
Watched "This Life + 10". I used to watch "This Life" and was
so excited that they had made this programme! It was brilliant! I also watched
"Secret Millionaire" after. I
defy anyone not to cry when they watch this programme. It is so inspiring and emotional. I love it.
Wednesday 3rd January
Had to go to Denmark again to today. There was four of us this time, Nathan,
Donna, Myself and Rob Blair. So we all
piled into Nathan's car and head to Stansted. God I feel like I live at that bloody airport!
Thursday 4th January
Played against Rob's team Vendsyssel. We won 4-3 (won ladies singles on the golden set)
and I won my ladies doubles pretty comfortably. Good job really as my head was full of cold and I don't know if I
would've lasted very long if it was a hard game! These are the middle games in which we are
playing for semi-final positions. It
really doesn't mean much and I wasn't exactly motivated for the game but it has
to be done!
Friday 5th January
Back to England! Got back to Milton Keynes and trained with Nathan, Donna and Rob. Afterwards I went to David Lloyd gym in which
I am a member and tried out the "Power Plates". They are not that new but gyms are now
installing them. I heard about them a
year ago and how they really help to stimulate the muscles and so I was looking
forward to giving them a try.
As you do your exercises, the platform vibrates and
apparently this is what makes your muscles work harder than before. I tried a variety of exercises - squats,
lunges, tricep dips and abs. Will let
you know if I am feeling it tomorrow!
