Hong Kong here we come...!

Saturday 26th August

Decided not to go to the hall and watch any badminton.  I don't like it when I'm not in the tournament so I tend to ignore the whole thing when I have lost.  It really hurts watching the games and wanting to be on court instead of them. Went to do a bit of shopping for some 'electrical' goods.  found some bargains on the market!  who would've thought you can get such items so cheap?!  It was so hot though.  Not a good sign if you are sweating as much as you do on court when you are shopping.

Managed to get Donna to give back the CSI NY dvd and persuaded her to watch a film instead. Watched 'John Tucker Must Die'. Verdict - brilliant if you are a teenager.  Not so brilliant if you are 29yrs old.  Move over Johnathan Ross!  Myself, Donna, Jo Nicholas and Tracey Hallam then decided to have a bit of a pamper and so we all put on a clay mud face mask.  We did look a bit scary - a cross between us trying to be in the army and pretending to be the incredible hulk!  We all creeped up to Natalie Munt's room to try and scare her- but it didn't work.  She was not amused.  And yes, we are that childish.

Donna was pining for CSI NY again but managed to get her to watch 'My Super Ex-Girlfriend'. Verdict - very funny in bits, very stupid in bits but overall not a bad way to waste a couple of hours.

Sunday 27th August

We're out of Korea! But we had to leave the hotel at 5am and it wasn't definite if we would be allowed on the flight.  Basically, the ladies doubles for Hong Kong starts on the Monday so we needed to be in Hong Kong as soon as possible so we had to change the flights.  Luckily we got on and arrived in Hong Kong pretty safe and sound.  Except for Natalie Munt's bag.

After describing what the bag looked like and going through every little bit of detail, we finally left the airport.  Everyone is really tired and snappy with each other!

I love Hong Kong. Just being here is makes me happy. There is such a vibe about it that makes me want to explore and learn more about the place.

Sometimes when we go away, we don't get to see much of the place, but i make a real effort with Hong Kong.  Our hotel is really near Times Square- a huge shopping mall with a food court and supermarket that does EVERYTHING!  To get there, we have to walk through a fish market which is definitely an experience! Not for the sqeamish - but it is fascinating to watch the market fishmongers prepare the fish and how fresh it all is.  Right to the point that most fish are still alive when they fillet it!

Natalie is wearing my clothes.  Very creepy.

Monday 28th Augus t

Breakfast was great! Baked beans!  I love Hong Kong.....!  Find out that Donna and I have got to play Suzanne Rayappan and Jenny Wallwork 1st round in the ladies doubles at 4.30pm.  It's not nice to play someone from your own country in an international tournament.  I want Suzanne and Jenny to do well against other ladies doubles pairs for their own experience and I'm sure they don't want to play us cos they can play us anytime at Milton Keynes.  Oh well.

Went out for a walk before getting ready for the match but it was so hot!

In the end we retreated to the cool of Times Square's air conditioning.

Unfortunately. most of the shops are designer- Gucci, Armarni etc. and we don't earn that much! In the end, came back with 2 bottles of water, some crunchy bars and a smoked salmon bagel.  Bet Posh Spice doesn't even get that!

Natalie's bag has arrived.  Thank god. Was starting to look like she wanted to be me!

We beat Suzanne and Jenny 21-8, 21-15.  It was an ok game from our point of view.  We did our job.  I think they are a good pair and they can definitely improve as they have some very good strengths.  They just need to piece their game together a bit more.

Found out this evening Ella and Manfred Tripp have had a little boy today- Callum weighing 7lb 8oz. Congratulations to them both!!
