Men!! They are crap with pain of any sort!

Tuesday 21st November

Our Danish match today was against Vaerlose.  Basically we are not doing as well in the league as we are supposed to be doing and now it is crunch time.

We need to win the next 3 matches, starting with this one.  Nathan and I did our bit and won easily (although I won't comment on the cocky Danish guy we had to play....) but we still ended up drawing the match 3-3! Luckily we won the golden set so we got 2 points at least. Phew!

Wednesday 22nd November

Ed came to visit and while I was training, he went to play my mum at badminton.  It had been a while since he last played, so I was a bit apprehensive about the outcome!  They played for 2 hours!  When Ed arrived at mine, he couldn't move!  His legs, feet and back were completely seized up, but he won 3 sets off my mum so he said it was worth it.  They did play 12 sets though.... but it is an improvement!  However, Ed just kept moaning all night that he needed a massage and that I didn't know what pain he was in!

Men??!!!  They are crap with pain of any sort and what does he think I do as a job?  I have to train everyday!

Thursday 23rd November

Mixed training nice and early this morning!  I hadn't had the best night sleep and mixed is the worst to play when you haven't had enough kip!  Got through it just about and then had to do a quick change before it was outside in the freezing cold car park to do a photo shoot for the England bid for the 2011 World Championship bid.  Then it was the big surprise of the day.  Woody and I have been keeping a secret from Nathan for a while now, and today was the day that all was to be revealed.....

With a fake interview being set up with tv cameras and everything, I burst into the hall and interrupted the interview with Nathan to announce that he has won the "BBC East Midlands TV Sportsman of the Year" award!  He was very shocked and luckily I didn't fluff my lines cos I don't think we would have been able to re-create the whole thing again!!  We had to do it like this as Nathan can't make the awards night as we will be in Denmark and so they filmed this to show on the night.  I am so glad I managed to keep this secret!  I am usually terrible at things like that!

I then had been invited by Sainsbury's to do a talk at one of their seminar days.  It was a bit intimidating at first - I had to talk about being a winner and how I have managed to be successful to successful businessmen and women and sometimes at events like this, I wonder if they really want to hear from little me!  Luckily everyone was lovely and I had a really good time.  The days go really well if the people involved are really enthusiastic and eager to participate and so it was really easy in the end talking about my views on badminton, winning and what I focus on.  After I had spoken for about 20 mins, they then had to write on a flip chart of all the characteristics I possess that have made me get where I have today. That was very weird!  And the characteristics they came out with were very strong!  Even "World Domination"!  Ha ha ha ha!!  I am doing pretty much the same thing next week - I can't wait!!

After getting back from London, it was James Bond time!  Everyone has been raving about this new film and how brilliant Daniel Craig is as the new Bond so I was really looking forward to seeing it.  And it did not disappoint.

It was one of the best films I had seen for ages and a bit different from all the other Bond films so that was a surprise but I definitely think it is for the better. As for Daniel Craig, well.... we've all seen those clips of him coming out of the water haven't we?!  Need I say anymore?!!
