Wednesday 4th October
Am feeling tired from all this travelling! Nathan and Donna are struggling with colds
and driving back to Milton Keynes is making me even more tired!
Tried to train but only managed little bits and then had to do an interview with the Daily Express. It went ok - although I wasn't sure if I was going to fall asleep on him or burst into tears! Realised I had to pack everything for the next 2 days and all my stuff for Japan Open which we leave for on Saturday. I had no food in the house and there was a load of washing to do as well! Aaaaarrrgghhhh! Stress.
I think the interview guy felt that too! And the fact that I had a sore throat so was having to drink water and
suck a strepsil all the way through didn't help I'm sure!
Brilliant - can't wait for that to come out
Thursday 5th October
Had to film a "mystery guest" for Question of
Sport! Not telling you what I had to do,
but it involved miming along to a song and a bit of acting! West End here I come! Was good fun, but takes bloody ages (all
morning) when you think you are only on the screen for 2 minutes! Then it was a mad dash from Bletchley studios
to the badminton centre to do a Sky Sports interview.
That took about an hour, and then it was off to Reading
for a birthday do.
The weather was terrible and it took 2 hours to get there
with all the roadworks and the amount of rain! More stress! But the evening was
a good one - pizza and a comedy show. Went to see Ross Noble - very
funny!!
Friday 6th October
I don't think I woke up til 10.30am. I needed it! The past few days have been pretty manic and I have felt like I have
done everything for everyone else and nothing that I wanted to do. This often happens when sponsors want you to
do this and then someone else needs this. It's all great sometimes, but it also gets too much. It's the fine line between PR and actually
being a badminton player. The trouble is
that it all seems to happen at once!
After breakfast and watching some good old crap morning
tv, it was off for a run. And it started
raining! I went running with my boyfriend’s
housemate who is also called Ed, and he plays rugby, so is pretty fit. It's always the same when you go running with
someone - you have to try and show off!
So before long, we were bombing it along and I was
getting pretty knackered!
We went for about 4 miles which included a big hill so I
was dead when we got back to the flat! But I did feel a lot better and the stress had definitely vanished!
Went into town to meet my sister and her boyfriend. Resisted the temptation to buy lots but had
to pass HMV and had to buy some DVD's! More CSI!!
Donna will be pleased!
Had a few drinks in town with my boyfriend Ed, my sister
and her boyfriend.
Feeling even better now! Wine is great!!
