The Day My Ass Fell Out....

First up, reporting back on the supposed wherabouts of YEOH KAY BIN.... apparently he didn't make a debut for Rinconda this weekend, apparently he has been playing matches for them for the last month and I genuinely pray for some of the lower league teams singles players who come up against him in the league matches...! A senational addition for the Spanish league.
Moving on.... Match last weekend against Paracuellos who are top team in our group.... the top division is 12 teams split into two groups of 6 who play off against each other home and away then at the end of "group phase" play off against the equivalent finishing team home and away in the opposite group for final placement, relegation or the title.
We lost the match 4-3, I lost my singles 24/22 in the last set to Sergio Llopis despite leading 20/19 and 22/21. Our young mixed pair of Eli and Haidee Ojeda played out of their skins and very nearly went all the way in the mixed, pipped right at the post 23/21 in the last set to Sergio Llopis and Dolores Marco.
Team summary....? 2 points from victory against the top team in our group, and the 2nd best team in the league is a big step up for what is a young team (I am the oldest team memeber by 5 years) that untill this year has always finsihed bottom half of the division by the end of the season and as a result of foreign imports elsewhere made the focus this year primarily on staying up.
My summary......? Gutted. 20/19 up in the singles and 1 point away.... We were having long draining rallies, which by the end become a bit obsene, but tactically I wanted this game and I wanted to ask the physical question...... drained to the point that both of us knew that our attack was being absorbed on the other side, and attacking was only burning up excess energy it became a battle of who would make the simple mistakes first.
I did, and 3 of them from 22/21 up..... my ass fell out at the vital moment from fatigue and Sergio although very tried himself, had the stones to dig just that little bit further.
Nightmare!!!! But important for me to face the fact that I have to increase my workload and dig another 20% further every day now in training.
Right.... gotta shoot..... Massage beckons!
